TUNE INTO THE ABOVE SITES for a mix of old and next generation Bluegrass Music, information and informative interviews from Steve and the Unreal Bluegrass show.

SHOW THIS WEEK:

MAC WISEMAN w/THOMM JUTZ - part2

Mac Wiseman is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, bassist and storyteller who has been recording great American music for seventy years. He is part of bluegrass music's first generation, having played in Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys band and in Flatt & Scruggs Foggy Mountain Boys. He helped form the Country Music Association and is one of the 'Heroes of American Roots music'. Famous for his clear, mellow tenor voice that conveys empathy, kindness, and understanding he became known as 'The Voice with a Heart' early on. Mac is a member of the Country Music and Bluegrass Music Halls of Fame.

I Sang the Song(Life of the Voice with a Heart) is a star-studded concept album celebrating the life and spirit of Mac and the first album fully comprised of Mac Wiseman's own words and melodies. Blessed with an incredible memory, the album arose from sessions with friends Thomm Jutz and Peter Cooper as 91 year old storyteller Mac recalled his colorful life resulting in the album tracks.

Listen to Part 1 of this 2-part interview by clicking on the link at the top of the center column then listen to one of shows above for part 2 of the interview as Steve talks with Mac Wiseman and Thomm Jutz about this album of ten carefully crafted songs, sung by an assembly of adoring, extraordinary artists, and a finale featuring a duet with Alison Krauss on Mac's classic "Tis Sweet to Be Remembered".
