i The cornerstone of Kronos Quartet's mission is the unique, live performance voice of the string quartet which brings together a conversation of distinct but integrated voices. It is from this artistic foundation that Kronos explores, extends and enhances the musical experience for artists, audiences and global communities. Kronos achieves its mission which includes teaching, mentoring and encouraging the next generations of artists and audiences. Their recent project pays tribute to Pete Seeger who often found and adapted old songs to new situations and also penned a fair number of new folk songs for use during the folk revival of the mid-20th century. Pete's influence runs deep. And the Kronos Quartet fashions his music in their own inimitable way on Long Time Passing pictured above. Steve adds additional music from Pete, music inspired by Pete and reads a few additional tributes from other great artists to the legendary Pete Seeger.
